AbstractThe dissertation aims to explore how IoT can enhance management effectiveness in Hong Kong shopping malls by capitalizing on its transformative capabilities. With the advent of digital advancements, IoT has become a promising technology that offers exciting opportunities to various industries, especially the retail sector. By integrating IoT's suite of advanced features, shopping malls can optimize their management processes and elevate operational efficiency while delivering exceptional customer experiences marked by seamless and intelligent interactions. In examining the IoT implementation in shopping malls, project materials were analyzed and interviews with stakeholders such as mall property officers or managers were conducted to gain firsthand insights. To evaluate its strengths and weaknesses, a questionnaire method was used to conduct a quantitative analysis based on this foundation. The research results are providing strategic recommendations for the effective deployment of IoT solutions in shopping malls. These suggestions pave the way to enhancing management efficiency and boosting the overall shopping experience for consumers. Moreover, this report delivers practical guidance on making such malls more effective by analyzing useful insights and providing stakeholders involved in the development and management of Hong Kong's shopping malls with informed decisions. This study makes a significant contribution to the existing body of knowledge on smart community development. It extends the theoretical framework for utilizing IoT in shopping mall management, based on its results. This dissertation bridges the gap between theory and practice, emphasizing how IoT can improve management effectiveness within shopping malls.
