AbstractThe Aharonov-Bohm interference in the p channel of a chiral small-gap single-walled nanotube (SWNT) was investigated in the Fabry-Perot interference regime. It was found that the relatively low magnetic fields applied parallel to the axis of the SWNT caused large modulations to the p channel. It was also found that the modulations were caused due to the Aharonov-Bohm interference between the two field-induced nondegenerate subbands of spiralling electrons. It was observed that the SWNT represented the smallest cylinders exhibiting the Aharonov-Bohm effect with rich interference and beating phenomena.
