AbstractThe design and synthesis of a molecular shuttle, in which the two components are a cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene) macro-cycle and a linear polyether chain intercepted by two symmetrically-located hydroquinol units around a central bis(2-oxypropylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene residue, and terminated by two 4-tritylphenyl ether functions, are reported.
