AbstractThe finding that benzidine and 4,4′-biphenol form stable inclusion complexes in acetonitrile with the previously reported receptor cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene) was used to self-assemble novel redox-active rotaxanes based on the interactions that stabilize these inclusion complexes. © 1993, American Chemical Society.
