Abstract

Heterobridged molecular wheels {Run(μ-SR)n(μ-X)n}(CO)2n (X=halide, n=6, 8) composed of edge-shared RuS2X2C2 coordination octahedra have been isolated and crystallographically characterized. These hexa- and octanuclear heterobridged wheels feature intriguing, fused Mn(μ-SR)n/Mn(μ-X)n (n=6, 8) metallamacrocycles and constitute a unique type of six-coordinate metal molecular wheels with their metal ions linked by mixed S/X-donor ligands.
