AbstractMany had hopes that 2021 would bring the end of the global pandemic. Instead, we saw new variants spread, a market-crippling global supply shortage, and no end in sight. Many people lived in the sense of normalcy in the imperceptible influence by the Covid-19. They may not notice the change, by the change is significant such as the way of shopping. Hence, to reveal whether the housing preference of the people has changed due to the pandemic is the main purpose of this study. The study found that people believe the impact on the Covid-19 will not persist except by changing their shopping habits by increasing online shopping and fear of contacting the virus. The stated preference of the young people in Hong Kong is studied, and it showed that coping with the virus induced an impact on housing preference. Furthermore, an inspired result showed that the importance of the management and maintenance service, as well as the security service provided by the property management is higher than the physical design of the dwelling. This study provided a chance for all people to understand the housing preference of the young generation in Hong Kong after the outbreak of the pandemic.
