A review of antimicrobial peptides in dentistry

Abstract

Community based participatory research in dentistry enables community members, representatives, and academic researchers to build partnership in all aspects of the research process to promote oral health of the community. This research strategy not only enhances integration of cultural knowledge into interventions, it also supports researchers to effectively partner with communities to address health disparities. This lecture will introduce the concept of community based participatory research and an example of community based participatory research in Hong Kong will be used to illustrate the research impact to the community
