AbstractWith the advances in the bonding technology and dental materials, endocrown has gained increased popularity as an alternative to restore the teeth with a large amount of structure loss or insufficient clinical crowns. Restoring a single posterior tooth, endocrown shares a similar clinical outcome as a conventional crown and boasts a lower chance of catastrophic failure than teeth restored with the post, core, and crown. The most significant advantages of endocrown are its clinical simplicity and preservation of more cervical dentine and hence strength of the tooth. This review will have an in-depth discussion about the clinical application of endocrown from the indication, contra-indication, tooth preparation requirement, material selection, and clinical outcome supported with the latest evidence.
