Abstract | According to Fellows (2000), intelligent buildings is a hot and important
concept. Evolvement of traditional buildings to intelligent buildings is

of technology, the technologies used in intelligent building are changed
rapidly. Evaluation of intelligent building is essential to check whether the
provision used are obsolete or not.
Meanwhile, .
People's demand for the quality of buildings are getting higher and higher.
It is coincidental that intelligent building concept can be further developed
to provide better working and living environments for various users.
There are several famous and well-known intelligent buildings in Hong
Kong, such as Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and Cyberport.
There are different opinions and comments from general public and
professionals, including appreciation and criticism. It is important to evaluate the performance of intelligent building and investigate how to
improve and upgrade the development of intelligent building in long term.
Intelligent building concept can be applied into different kinds of building.
As Hong Kong is a famous international financial centre, scope of this
research was mainly focused on intelligent commercial building in Hong
Kong. The relationship between the performance of intelligent buildings
and users satisfaction level was studied. Also, a famous intelligent
commercial building was selected as a case study. Its main features were
studied and reviewed, and the satisfaction level of its users was evaluated.
88 users were invited to conduct the questionnaire survey and the findings
showed that most of respondents support the development of intelligent
building in Hong Kong.
