AbstractAlthough the two buildings are also adaptive reuse, the current situation is quite different. The Mills has become a very famous cultural and photo taking place in Hong Kong. And The Mills was awarded Winners of 2020 HKICON Conservation Awards. As for Qinhuangdao Museum of Glass, according to the questionnaire survey about it, the proportion of visits organized by the company is much higher than the proportion of visits by themselves, and as can be seen from the satisfaction survey of the questionnaire, the majority of people are indifferent about the experience of the visit. Through the processes of investigating the place and assessing each of these values, we can clearly describe why a place is important. This is the first step towards ensuring that our decisions and actions do not diminish its significance. Therefore, the building should be analyzed according to Burra Charter's evaluation process. Therefore, the author compared Qinhuangdao Museum of Glass with the CDEs of The Mills, and found that although Qinhuangdao Museum of Glass experienced adaptive reuse, the CDEs still kept the original state without adding any new elements, which could not make it adapt to the needs of modern life. However, all the CDEs of The Mills not only have the original architectural style, but also incorporate many modern elements, which make the original industrial style of the building stronger.
