Abstract | The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of axial plane parameters on bracing effectiveness in idiopathic scoliosis. We found significant differences between non-progressive and
progressive groups in apical vertebral rotation (AVR) at brace initiation (p=0.028), AVR reduction velocity (VR) (p=0.039) and torsion index (p=0.037) at 1 year. Logistic regression analysis revealed that AVR at brace initiation (OR 1.07, p=0.04) and AVR RV at 1 year (OR 1.15, p=0.049) were predictive for curve progression in braced girls. |
