Abstract	The lecture juxtaposes the process of accession to the European single market - as pursued by the Republic of Serbia - with the process of exiting from the the European Union - notably represented by 'Brexit'. Through this prism, legal and regulatory implications concerning the acquisition of the 'third-country' status are examined. The lecture draws from the direct involvement of Dr Castellano in legal and regulatory reforms in the Republic of Serbia to support the Country's access negotiations to the EU.
