AbstractIn this chapter, the authors present a concise summary of the more commonly seen types of rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRD) one can encounter in pediatric patients. A spectrum of diseases and their management will be described, including Stickler syndrome, Marfan syndrome, choroidal coloboma, and atopic dermatitis associated RRD. As the pediatric eye is smaller than the adult eye, certain considerations must be borne in mind when performing pediatric vitreoretinal surgeries. A section on surgical management pearls is included at the end of this chapter.
