AbstractDespite an era of great development and economic liberalization, China’s urban environment is impacted by increasing social inequality. The Social Imperative: Architecture and the City in China, edited by H. Koon Wee, explores this topic and will be used as a discussion guide. Participants will engage in conversation with practitioners and scholars as they imagine new social paradigms and create opportunities that address social issues surrounding massive building projects in China.
