AbstractThe research or field-reports related to the High Island Reservoir and Long Ke Wan area can be commonly found nowadays. The newly launched compulsory HKDSE Geography Fieldwork-based curriculum (FBQ) has been adopted in the 2019 HKDSE. The current research gap is the absence of relevant teaching materials or packages available for the senior secondary students. The High Island Reservoir East Dam and the Long Ke Wan area were located at the eastern part of the Kwun Mun Channel. In order to tackle the water shortage problem in Hong Kong, this area has been selected to establish a reservoir project by constructed dam to link up the area of High Island and Sai Kung Peninsula in 1970s. Moreover, the uniqueness of the geological formation contributed the area to become part of Hong Kong Geopark. The significant coverage of the volcanic rock group resulted High Island to become a major component of a National Geopark in 2009 and a Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark in 2011. This project aims at developing a tailor-made teaching package to enhance the fieldwork skills and geological knowledge related to the Geography curriculum. The application of enquirybased learning fieldwork skills is essential for senior secondary students learning through experiences.
