AbstractSocial Housing is a whole new issue in Hong Kong launching by The Hong Kong council of Social service with only two years of time till now, and it has become a hot topic by promoting the co-living concept to low-income people who are living in dismal and inadequate sub-divided units and waiting for Public rental housing for over 3 years. Through providing a suitable living condition, at the same time Hong Kong council of Social service is the first organization to add social service elements to the project in Hong Kong so that to help those in need and agree with the concept of co-living to have a better livelihood. This study explores the function of social housing and the effects bring to the existing tenants in social and psychological aspects and the situation facing by the service providers when running the projects, so that to explore more about the development of social housing in Hong Kong and consider to recommend the Government any possible measures can be taken to help on the social housing project and the planning for the long term housing policy.
