Abstract | There are several overarching paradigms of educational learning theories such as behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, neuroeducation, humanism, 21st Century skills amongst others. Each of these theories implies different approach to teaching and learning, curriculum design and national policies framework. The newest approaches and their interpretation in the field of education will be explored, discussed and applied in the format of active learning workshop. Participant will learn the underlying theories, apply skills to create and evaluate efficient and effective curricula and integrate approaches to justify changes of educational policies. As the outcome changing the attitudes towards outdated and nod valid theories would be desired. A the University of Hong Kong we designed and successfully implemented the Task-Oriented Practicals which consolidate the current educational theories and apply in practical settings their main principles. |
