| Abstract | We find evidence that hedge funds actively manage their media exposure. This is an important channel for investor flows. Investors tend to redeem capital from funds mentioned in the Wall Street Journal. However, if a fund has hired a marketer, and that marketer has an established relationship with an author at the WSJ, then media mentions tend to lead to fund inflows. |
