| Abstract | A key element in most systematic reviews is the synthesis of the data. Meta-analysis is the process of combining results or data from separate studies statistically to estimate the overall effect estimates with increasing power and precision. This talk will review the methods used in meta-analysis and the appropriate application of meta-analysis in systematic reviews. Some recent development such as prospective meta-analysis, individual participant data and network meta-analysis will also be discussed. |
