AbstractCycling was once considered as an outdated mean of transportation. In order to reduce the reliance on fossil fuel and to achieve the goal of sustainability, with the introduction of Bicycle Sharing Scheme, a renewed interest on bicycle is found in many cities recently. Asian cities like Taipei, Singapore and Tokyo are typical example of such. To tie in with such trend, housing management can also play a role to meet the new needs. With reference to the valuable foreign practices, designated cycling management measures should be formulated to the housing estates in Hong Kong so as to achieve the highest sustainability to meet the future challenges.
