AbstractData center is the infrastructure platform of the network service applications, whose topological architecture and working mechanism have significant impact on the performance of the application service in up layer. The traditional tree structure of data centers is unable to meet the requirement of the current internet service. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel modularized architecture for data centers and also provides a server-centric routing algorithm above it, the approach can reduce the building-cost considerably and improve the throughput as well as the fault-tolerance. Experimental result shows that the throughput performance of the topological architecture and routing algorithm proposed is superior to the traditional tree structures, and the fault-tolerant ability is better.
