AbstractThe coupled magnetic plasmons (CMPs) has been investigated in an active system composed of coupled metamaterial and quantum dots. By introducing a full-quantum description of CMPs, the interaction Hamiltonian of the active system was obtained, through which the stimulated emission could be investigated. The results showed that the CMP amplification by the stimulated emission radiation could be achieved under certain conditions. This may be used to work as a CMP source in the integrated optics and nano-photonics. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
