Abstract | In Hong Kong such highly developed area, tunnel is a very suitable transportation way to connect the new town to central business district.
However, as the tunneling works carried out underneath the urban area, it is unavoidable to induce the ground and structure disturbance. In order to minimize the tunneling impact, implementation of grouting to stabilize the ground become a common method prior to tunnel excavation. Two grouting technique - Jet grouting and TAM grouting are commonly used in Hong Kong for stabilized the underground weak soil. It would be an interested topics for every investor, contractor and engineer to find out the best grouting technique to minimize the disturbance. The effectiveness of TAM and Jet grouting would be assessed by examining the grouting data of my previous working project to determine the most effective grouting technique in this dissertation.
