AbstractThe present study is part of a detailed investigation on the three-dimensionality of the flow behind coaxial circular cylinders. Besides the configuration of 'stepped' cylinders, that is, with the discontinuity at the common plane of the two cylinders, the configuration of 'tapered' cylinders was adopted. Experimental data were obtained on the velocity spectrum behind the cylinders of these two configurations.
