| Abstract | A pilot study on the subjective responses of 200 Chinese to air-conditioning system noise has been carried out. Coupled with the acoustic measurements of the systems and of the background, the annoyance response was found to correlate well with the difference in the source level and the intermittent background level and with an index similar to the Noise Pollution Level. The arousal, however, did not correlate as well with the above noise indices. © 1978. |
