| Abstract | This article aims to critically assess the 13 sutta-s (discourses) of the Sīlakkhandha-vagga of the Dīghanikāya as of a particular literary genre called the ‘sutta-s’. It views these sutta-s as oral texts composed by following a specific sutta model or template known as the ‘Long sutta-s’ of that sutta literary genre in order to transmit the Buddha’s message from one person to another and from one generation to another. |
