AbstractThe aim of the paper is to understand the psychological roots of conflict as informed by early Buddhist discourses. It advocates that for a conflict to be understood fully, it must be analyzed in either the fourfold way or the twofold way. It examines the root causes of conflict and identifies conceit 'I am' as the root of all conflicts.
