AbstractWe presented two cases with childhood tuberculous meningitis highlighting the presenting clinical features and difficulities in early confirmatory diagnosis even with the rapid diagnostic tests, i.e. tuberculostearic acid (TBSA) and M. tuberculosis polymerase chain reaction (TBPCR). A review of literature regarding TBSA and PCR was undertaken.
