Abstract | Conversion of Pt-2(PPh3)(4)(mu-S)(2) to [Ag-2{Pt-2(PPh3)(4)(mu-S)(2)}(2)](2+) via [AgPt2(PPh3)(5)(mu(3)-S)(2)](+) and Ag2Pt2Cl2(PPh3)(4)(mu(3)-S)(2) demonstrates an aggregate growth process whereby stepwise addition of Ag+ and the Pt-2 metalloligand is accompanied by a sequential unfolding and folding of the {Pt2S2} butterfly core. |
