AbstractDeoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) profiling has become a very powerful method for forensic human identification, and statistics plays an important role in assessing the uncertainty in identification and evaluating the weight of DNA evidence. Statistical calculation of match probabilities for various single-source problems, paternity index for differentiating between the true father and the alleged father, and the likelihood ratio for the mixed stain are demonstrated in homogeneous or structured populations.
