| Abstract | The paper discussed the authorship and composition date of Zuozhuan. The issue has been widely discussed in books of history of classical Chinese literature and the conclusions are inconsistent. The authors of the paper agreed with the conclusion that Zuozhuan was firstly taught in the end of the Spring-Autumn Period and finally composed before the mid-Warring States Period. A table containing different views of the issue from about 100 books of history of classical Chinese literature is provided in the paper. |
