From Urban Courtyard to Architectural Landscape

Abstract

四合院作為傳統的建筑類型,如何在當下高密度的都市里發展成為新的建筑形式?建筑地景和地景建筑如何與合院的建筑形態互動?此篇演講稿以都市合院與建筑地景為兩個主題,以一系列作者完成的設計探討了建筑與地景,合院與園林,城市與郊區之間的關系,以及不同尺度、形態與功能的四臺院和自然地景的設計可能,討論新合院形態空間的自然通風和采光與人們希望把自然融入居住狀態的愿景。 This article not only illustrates a design effort exploring ways of reinventing traditional courtyard typology in contemporary high density urban context,it also looks into how nature can be part of our urban daily life.Urban courtyard and architectural landscape are two possibilities,which concern about the relationships between architecture and the city and the living and natural conditions in various scales,and show the ideal where people wish to bring nature into living.This article,with a series of the author’s design projects,discusses the theory and practice of the two possibilities,where it is intended that the traditional design approaches could have new vitalities.
