Abstract | Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common malignancy arising from the follicular cells and its age-adjusted incidence has doubled over the past two decades. As a result, it imposes a cost burden to the society in general. However, despite the rapid rise in incidence, the actual mortality (or the chance of dying) from PTC has remained relatively unchanged in the same period. |
