AbstractThe urban environment is greatly influenced by human activities. Some of the influences may be relatively static, such as those due to artificial constructions (the characteristics can now be represented using various kinds of urban climatic maps), while others may be highly dynamic, such as those due to vehicular traffic. Since the urban environment will directly affect the wellbeing of humans, it is desirable to have high-resolution, near real-time climatic data to guide human living. For example, if we have a real-time climatic map of air pollution in different parts of the city, citizens suffering from respiratory disorders can be alerted to stay away from certain areas.
