AbstractA lot of disputes arose in relation with the use of the Google Adwords Service. These disputes captured the attention of scholars, occupied judges and lawyers, while Google, trademarks owners and users of the service were holding their breath... Google AdWords is a service that can boost website traffic by offering users to choose specific keywords in order to get a better position with the Google search engine. The two main issues that will be addressed during this seminar are the following: 1.) Is choosing and using keywords that are identical or similar to third parties' trademarks constitutes an infringement of these trademarks? 2.) Should Google, as an Internet service provider, be liable when users of its AdWords service choose to use keywords that are identical or similar to third parties' trademarks?
