Abstract | Tourism discourse is an area of intense semiotic and symbolic production. This article examines four areas of tourism discourse: (1) the staging of interactions between consumers/tourists and service providers/hosts; (2) the packaging of cultural forms or practices—including languages—as products for tourist consumption; (3) the framing and management of space and place; and (4) the recycling or remediation of tourist practices beyond their immediate contexts of enactment. |
