AbstractThis Monte Carlo simulation study evaluated constraints (e.g., sample size, nonindependence, measurement error) that may affect the effectiveness (e.g., estimation bias, power, Type-I error) of multilevel models with cross-level interactions. Results suggest effectiveness of multilevel models is largely affected by the proposed data and design constraints.
