AbstractThe article discusses the developments in the field of mathematics, particularly on the geometric Pythagorean interpretation of Estermann's slick proof of the irrationality of √2. It examines the p x p square array of dots with two q x q square array of dots located diagonally in the upper right-hand corner and the lower left-hand corner of the square array. The works of J. van Maanen, H.-J. Waschkies, and P. Shiu are also cited.
