AbstractOBJECTIVE: This study is to investigate the life events of eczema patients through questionnaire, in order probe into the correlation between emotional factors and the occurrence of eczema. Also to summarize the direction and thought of using acupuncture therapy in eczema, such as the principle of treatment, prescription, etc. METHOD: During the period from February to June 2012, we have used Life Events Scale and requested a number of eczema patients to do the questionnaire. In this study, we investigate the correlation between livelihood and emotional factors of eczema patients and healthy group through data analysis. RESULT: We have completed 30 cases of eczema patients and 32 cases of healthy people. The data shows: (1) Eczema group has 190 negative cases (68.8%) and 86 positive cases (31.2%); while healthy group has 164 negative cases (60.5%) and 107 positive cases (39.5%). Eczema group has more negative events than healthy group, these two groups have statistics variance in life events scale (P<0.05). (2) In compare the two groups’ stimulus on positive and negative events and the total stimulus on life events; positive events’ stimulant and total life events’ stimulant of both groups were correspondent, no variances (P>0.05). However, negative events’ stimulant of eczema group was much higher than the other group which shows meaning on statistics (P<0.05). (3) In compare the influence extent in positive and negative events on eczema of eczema group, the total of negative events were higher than positive events which have statistics variance (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Negative event is one of the factors on eczema. Aside from the normal acupuncture treatment on eczema, we should pay more attention to the emotion of patients.
