AbstractThe vital channel’s running route was investigated in this study according to the description of Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic and Classic on Medical Problems. The related literature showed that the understanding of the ancients about the vital channel’s running route was mainly come from the intuitive observation on the pulsation of abdominal aorta. This fact suggest that the different experience and observation resulted in the differences and confused vital channel’s running routes, which actually refl ect the early visage of meridian theory forming.
