Abstract | Lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12) has been used as an anode material for lithium ion batteries as its good structure stability. It also has a relatively high discharge plateau at 1.55 V vs Li/Li+ that can prevent the formation of the solid electrolyte interface (SEI), thus it is safe. Mesoporous TiO2 fiber developed at NJUT [1] was used as the precursor to prepare lithium titanate (LTO) through (i) solid state reaction, and (ii) hydrothermal method.
