AbstractA succinct method is proposed for deriving spectral representation of the fringe capacitances of horizontal and vertical frills. The approach enables fast and accurate calculation of the input admittances of coaxial-fed antennas. The importance of the fringe capacitance calculation for magnetic frill sources is demonstrated by a variational formulation. Simple formulas are also provided for extracting fringe capacitances of frills with different wire radii and frill widths.
