Abstract | A venous flap was designed on the anterior abdominal wall of S-D rats. Six different groups of vascular connections were established to provide different types of blood supply to the flap. Superficial necrosis occurred in venous flaps nourished by a feeding vein. Although the survival rate was good when the venous flaps were nourished by a feeding artery, the quality of such flaps in terms of survival rate, elasticity studies, and histological changes was still inferior to a normal arterial flap. |
