Abstract | We show that in the infinite (Ud,Up) limit, the effective next-nearest-neighbor and further hoppings of the Cu-O singlet introduce frustration in the kinetic energy. The resulting single-band model is not obviously in disagreement with the numerical results of Gooding and Elser. © 1990 The American Physical Society. |
