AbstractThe dynamic conductivity of vortex cores in type-II superconductors is calculated. We show that there is a chiral optical resonance well below the superconducting gap, corresponding to creating a pair of quasiparticles inside the vortex core. The chirality is the same as cyclotron resonance. The frequency and intensity of the resonance are estimated by numerically solving the Bogoliubov de Gennes equations self-consistently. © 1993 The American Physical Society.
