AbstractThe analysis of proposed S = 2 bond model with orbital degrees of freedom for insulating V 2O 3 was presented. It was found that the model explains magnetic ordering and other properties of magnetic phase transition. It explains occurance of magnetic and orbital ordering at same transition temperature, explains transition being first order, and observation of relatively broad peak in susceptibility for wave vector of AS ordering by neutron scattering above transition temperature.
