AbstractAlpha brass of grain size 3000 mu m exhibits three texture types after cold rolling to 84%. On annealing at 300 degree C the recrystallisation textures of all three types are basically left brace 110 right brace 110 direction. The recrystallisation behaviour is linked to shear bands and dark etching structures which seem to be a feature of deformed large grain size brass.
