AbstractThis study examines for the first time the smooth muscles of the blood vessels supplying the bone. An experimental model is presented which involves in vitro perfusion of a dog's tibia via the arteria nutriens. The perfusion speed and duration are registered. Thus, an experimental model is worked out which provides a satisfactory tool for studying the vascular reactivity of bone with a view to accumulating more knowledge on regulatory phenomena, adrenergic innervation and the influence of local and humoral factors which play a role in bone circulation.
