AbstractIn recent years, fabrication and characterization of various inorganic nanostructures has attracted great attention. On the other hand, studies on the synthesis of organic nanostructures have been scarce. Yet, organic nanostructures offer great potential for the fabrication of organic devices with improved performance. It is expected that the organic nanostructures can have improved charge transport properties due to different packing of molecules. Organic nanostructures can be fabricated using a simple low vacuum evaporation system in the flow of a carrier gas (organic vapor phase deposition OVPD). Here, we investigated the structural and optical properties of a range of organic nanostructured materials, such as 3,4,9,10-perylene-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA), 3,4,9,10-perylene-tetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI), 1,4,5,8-naphthalene- tetracarboxylic-dianhydride (NTCDA), lead phthalocyanine (PbPc) and titanyl phthalocyanine (TiOPc), prepared using OVPD. The obtained nanostructures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence (PL). The effect of the substrate temperature on the morphology and emission properties of the materials will be discussed in detail.
