AbstractA new series of dinuclear platinum(II) complexes, [Pt 2(μ-dppm)(dppm-P,P′)(μ-C=CRPPh 2 CH 2PPh 2P)(C≡CR)] 2+ (R = alkyl), has been synthesized, and the structure of one of the complexes was confirmed by X-ray crystallography. A proposed mechanism to account for their formation from the corresponding alkynyl precursors is suggested. Their luminescence properties are also reported.
